Shave your legs every other day. If you are worried about the in-between days, invest in an electric razor. They are less harsh on the skin and can eliminate subtle stubble.
Warm weather is upon us, which signals the yearly ritual of shedding clothing. The warmer temperatures make skin-exposing clothing an option.
For girls, we no longer have the option of being lazy. Lazy in the shaving department, that is. It is surely an embarrassing situation to arrive at class, look down and realize you forgot to shave your legs.
The time-consuming task is something no one likes to do. It's annoying and takes forever. However, a few things can make the process less demanding.
The most important thing when shaving is to select the right razor. The Venus Divine razor by Gillette is a top choice. It has lubricating strips that contain aloe, which helps the razor glide over skin. The three blades are just right for obtaining the closest possible shave.
One of the most important parts of a razor is a pivoting head. This helps you avoid nicks around the knees and ankles. If you choose a razor that has cartridges, make sure to change them often. Changing the cartridge about every three shaves is a good idea.
Irritation is one of the more saddening effects of shaving.
Razor burn and ingrown hairs are all annoying, ugly and unwanted. To avoid this don't shave every single day. Take a break. Shave your legs every other day. If you are worried about the in-between days, invest in an electric razor. They are less harsh on the skin and can eliminate subtle stubble.
When the time comes to shave it is important to wait at least three minutes after entering the shower to actually shave. This allows time for the heat to open up pore and soften the hair, which will help you get a closer shave. Also, make sure to exfoliate. Dead skin can clog the razor, which prevents you from getting the closest and smoothest shave possible. It is important to use a shave gel or cream. Shaving dry is sure to irritate the skin. Using a gel or cream will help protect the skin and moisturize it as you shave.
The last step is to moisturize. Select a lotion that is non-irritating since skin can be sensitive after shaving. Be aware of any nicks and cuts you may have gave yourself and avoid these areas when applying lotion. It is helpful to apply lotion as soon as you get out of the shower to help seal in all the moisture from the shower and the lotion.
Following these simple tips will help you have smooth skin all summer long.
