Following a large build up of anticipation from Summerfest’s Facebook page after releasing some not-so-subtle headliner hints, the festival announced that the Red Hot Chili Peppers and Pink are both included on the 50th-anniversary lineup.
The Red Hot Chili Peppers will open up the milestone celebration for Summerfest on opening night, Wednesday, June 28, while Pink will play Amphitheater on Sunday, July 2nd. The two acts have been rightfully celebrated among festival goers, as it’s been over a decade since both acts have played Summerfest.
Though the first two major headliners were announced, the lineup is far from being complete. Summerfest is expected to announce more Marcus Amphitheatre acts as well as general festival acts in the upcoming weeks through their Facebook page.
Due to the headliners taking place in the Marcus Amphitheatre, tickets must be purchased separately from normal festival tickets, which include general Summerfest admission. Tickets for Pink go on sale Friday, November 18th at 10:00 a.m. and tickets for Red Hot Chili Peppers go on sale Friday, November 18 at 12:00 p.m. Summerfest will take place from June 28-July 2 and July 4-9 2017.
