Looking for a great way to end 2014? Head on down to the Metal Grill for the heaviest New Year’s Party of your life courtesy of three of Milwaukee’s very best heavy metal bands, Thrasher, Conniption, and Motley Brue.

Last Halloween was meant to be the first time Thrasher, Conniption, and Motley Brue shared the stage in one night, but unforeseen circumstances forced Thrasher to cancel. Fortunately for rock and metal fans in attendance, Motley Brue had two things on their side that night that saved the show from disaster; a masterful grasp of all of the best Motley Crue tunes and Jesus Christ aka Andy Martin of Conniption on the drum kit. And so, despite having to play half of what would have been Thrasher’s stage time, the Brue more than made up for the lack of the phenomenal thrash act by delivering a performance that would make proud the very band to which they were playing in tribute. While all of the songs from “Dr. Feelgood,” “Home, Sweet Home,” and “Girls, Girls, Girls,” were expertly done, it was the Brue’s rendition of “Kickstart My Heart” that was particularly electrifying.

With a name like Thrasher one expects a certain element to this well-known cover band. As expected, Thrasher delivers the hard hitting sounds of the genre made famous by the likes of the Big Four; Anthrax, Slayer, Megadeth, and Metallica. Expect to hear classics such as Anthrax’s “I am the Law,” Megadeth’s “Peace Sells”, and many more but with an extra dose of awesome, for the band’s seemingly inhuman lead guitarist, Bill House, takes no prisoners with his mastery of the six string setting Thrasher apart from any other metal cover band in Milwaukee.

To their fans Conniption needs no introduction. Fast, heavy, and melodic, this four piece all-original thrash act is on the fast track to glory. Armed with fan favorites such as “Let the Wolf Out,” “The Torrent,” “Kamikaze,” “Laughing in the Face of Death,” and so many more from their two highly acclaimed albums, Conniption has become known across the state for delivering an unforgettable stage show. And with a consistent, all-star lineup including guitarist/vocalist Michael Brigham, bassist Cody Dziuk, drummer Andy Martin, and the maniacal Bill House on lead guitar, Conniption is sure to own the night as the always seem to do.

So if you’re a metal head and you feel the urge to wake up in 2015 with a sore neck to go with that hang over, head on down to the Metal Grill in Cudahy for a night of pure heavy metal fun. You won’t regret it in the morning once the aspirin kicks in.
