On campus, near campus and throughout Milwaukee, students have taste-tested multiple restaurants. Which ones stand out to fellow classmates at UWM?

During school hours, a popular stop in the Union is Pacific Wraps. Tanzil Ahmad, an undecided major, says he gets the Baha Wraps. Students can also go to the Gasthaus or Union Station to grab a quick bite to eat.

Tasty lunch options within walking distance include: Oakland Gyros, Solo Pizza and Thai Kitchen. These are all located on Oakland Avenue. A popular choice at Thai Kitchen is the pad thai, which is noodles stir-fry. Bel Air Cantina is another restaurant not to far from the university, popular for its $2 taco Tuesday and Thursdays.

Around the city students like to grab some classic comfort food. Javon Albright, a healthcare administration major, said he loved the chicken Bellagio at Cheesecake Factory. Michael Madden, a psychology and political science major, loves the shrimp Fettuccini Alfredo at Olive Garden. Kyle Duelge, a kinesiology major, said he loves getting the classic mac and cheese with breadcrumbs and bacon at Rock Bottom Brewery. Stephen Stojanovic, a JAMS major, enjoys grilled burgers from AJ Bombers.

The Milwaukee Burger, served at AJ Bombers, was featured on the television show Food Wars. This show was featured on the Travel Channel from March to November 2010. Bombers beat out another famous Milwaukee restaurant (Sobelman’s Pub and Grill) for best Milwaukee cheeseburger.

Whether students are getting pad thai from Thai Kitchen, or simply getting a burger at AJ Bombers, UWM students love fueling up after a long day of school with some good food, and great friends at these Milwaukee restaurants.
