An assortment of stress-relieving activities filled campus Monday as Panthers geared up for final exam week.

The ambiance of the room was both relaxed and lively. A spiritual zone, complete with an aromatherapy booth and spiritual labyrinth, created the relaxed feel. Hot beverage tables and an oxygen bar were refreshing compliments to the yoga instructor, massage chairs and craft stations.

Aaron Nelson is a graduate student who conducted wellness surveys at the event.

“Students can take the information [from the survey to create] a healthier lifestyle,” Nelson said.

He was impressed at the amount of students who came to the event to de-stress and learn about healthy choices.

“It’s been the most in the three years [since] we’ve been doing it.”

Ariel Gely, a junior studying I.T. management, attended the event out of curiosity and said it seemed “pretty successful,” for her first attendance.

Freshman friends Katie Tokarz and Ashley Burris waited in line for a spinal rack massage and planned to check out the ever-so-popular oxygen booth. Tokarz said she enjoyed the event and found the set up to be “calming.”

The event was set up by the LGBT center, SHAC, UWM Libraries, University Recreation, CAB, Student Success Center and the Spiritual and Religious Community.
