The Milwaukee women’s tennis team is set to begin its 2016-17 campaign this weekend as they head to the Huskie Invitational, a tournament hosted by Northern Illinois beginning Friday.

Head coach Jeff Aranda is entering his first full year with the team. During the spring session, his team went 12-10 overall and 6-3 in conference play.

Two all-league honorees are back in the lines from a year ago, including first-team all-league selection Labina Petrovska and second-teamer Hayler Marshall.

Three talented freshmen will also get the nod for Milwaukee this weekend, as Nicole Clarke, Berta Masdevall Masip and Eszter Zador will begin their careers for the Panthers in Illinois this weekend.

Should weather impede any action, matches will be moved to nearby Rockford Boylan High School. In addition to facing Northern Illinois, the Panthers will face opponents from South Dakota State and Lewis University.
