The University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee in conjunction with the Blood Center of Wisconsin will be hosting a spring blood drive on Tuesday, April 23 in the UWM Union Ballroom between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m.

The Blood Center provides the following tips in preparing for a successful donation:

– Get a good night’s sleep

-Eat a healthy meal at least one hour before donating

-Be well hydrated before your donation

-Bring verification of your identity (including a driver’s license, BloodCenter Donor ID card, or government-issued ID card showing your name and birth date

Donors should set aside approximately one hour to complete the donation process.

Snacks and refreshments will be provided following the donation. The Blood Center encourages donors to drink plenty of fluids within the 24 hours after donating and to avoid strenous activity and heavy lifting.
