Overview: Mother’s Day weekend brings spring-like temperatures and a slight chance for showers on Saturday that will clear up by Sunday. Monday and Wednesday high-pressure systems will lead to bright skies, while Tuesday features showers moving through Milwaukee.  

Today: On Saturday, a weak cold front will slide through the Milwaukee area. Rain chances from this front will be minimal with only a 20% chance before 5 p.m. and accumulations will be less than a tenth of an inch. In the morning temperatures will rise through the 50s with winds out of the west at 8 mph. Overcast skies mid-day will create a slight chance for isolated showers. Furthermore, temperatures reach the lower 60s by the afternoon with northwest winds increasing to 14 mph with gust as high as 35 mph. 

Overnight: Into the overnight hours, shower chances will disappear with skies becoming mainly clear. Temperatures will tumble down into the low- 40s with northwest winds decreasing to around 6 mph as a high-pressure system begins to move in the direction of Wisconsin. 

Tomorrow: Mother’s Day will be another transitional weather day, as a slow moving high-pressure system drops out of the northwest. Sunny skies will be the theme through the early afternoon, but more clouds will fill in by the late afternoon. Temperatures will rise through the 40s in the morning before reaching the upper 50s by the afternoon with northwest winds around 8 mph. By the evening and into the overnight skies will clear with temperatures slipping down into the high 30s for a low with calm north winds as a high pressure system sits over northern Wisconsin. 

Extended: Monday’s weather will be similar to Sunday, but with more sunshine which is made possible by the same high pressure system which will start to move off to the east. Temperatures will reach the low 50s for the day with winds out of the east-northeast around 8 mph. By the evening and in the overnight hours temperatures will stick around 40℉ for a low as winds shift to the south with speeds staying consistent because a stronger weather maker approaching Wisconsin.  

Tuesday will be a rainy and overcast day. A low pressure system will pass to the south, however with Milwaukee being on the northern end of this system a low pressure trough will swing through the area. A band of showers and embedded thunderstorms will arrive by the mid morning and last into the late evening. It won’t rain the entire time, but there is an 80% chance that all of Milwaukee will see rain. Temperatures will reach the upper 50s for a high with blustery south winds around 18 mph. By the overnight hours all shower chances will come to an end. Winds will swing around to the west and slow to around 12 mph as temperatures settle in the lower 40s with overcast conditions. 

Wednesday a calmer weather pattern will take shape due to another high pressure system sitting just off to the west of Wisconsin. With this system in control, the Milwaukee area will have a pretty nice day. Brilliant sunshine will dominate skies during the day as temperatures reach the upper 50s with blustery northwest winds around 12 mph. By the evening and overnight clear skies will help temperatures dive into the low 40s for a low with northwest winds easing between 8 mph.
