Overview: Milwaukee stays mostly sunny Sunday and Monday. By midweek, Milwaukee’s weather turns more active with showers and thunderstorms. On Thursday, Milwaukee will dry out under cloudy skies.
Today: Sunday will start out with some low clouds in the morning but turn sunny during the day. Temperatures will rise through the mid-50s and 60s in the morning with winds out of the northwest at 12 mph. By the afternoon, temperatures will easily reach the upper 60s for a daytime high. Into the evening, winds will slow to around 5 mph and turn to the west.
Overnight: Temperatures will be able to settle in the low-50s for an overnight low with winds from the southwest under clear skies.
Tomorrow: Monday will follow Sunday’s pattern, although temperatures warm slightly. During the morning hours, temperatures will rise through the mid-50s and 60s with west winds around 10 mph under brilliant sunshine. Some high-level clouds will move in by the afternoon which will help temperatures to reach the low-70s for a daytime high. In the evening, winds will switch to the southwest ahead of our next weather maker. Overnight Monday skies will become partly cloudy with temperatures cooling into the high-50s despite southwest winds of 8 mph.
Tuesday: An active pattern continues through the extended forecast. Tuesday will start out mostly cloudy and rainy because of a slow-moving warm front moving through southern Wisconsin from the west. As this weather maker arrives, winds will continue from the southwest and increase to around 12 mph which will allow temperatures to make it into the mid-70s for a daytime high by the afternoon. A 50% chance of showers and isolated thunderstorms will hang around all day until early evening. This will allow for skies to clear for a short while. Temperatures will cool into the upper 50s despite southwest winds around 10 mph and easing into Wednesday morning under overcast skies.
Extended: On Wednesday, a new low-pressure system will finally begin to move through Wisconsin. More showers and embedded thunderstorms will continue through the whole day. The Milwaukee area could pick up three quarters to an inch and a quarter of rain between Tuesday and Wednesday night. During the day, temperatures will only be able to make it into the low-70s with southwest winds of 8 mph under overcast skies. By the early overnight hours, all thunderstorm activity should cease leaving overcast skies behind. Winds will swing to the north and slow to around 6 mph. Thursday will be more of the same. Overcast skies will dominate as a trailing low-pressure trough hangs over Wisconsin. The day looks to be mainly dry, but a 10% chance of a shower from the west may sneak far enough east into the Milwaukee area. Otherwise, temperatures will reach the lower 70s with east winds between 8 mph. Overnight skies will clear as temperatures dip into the upper 50s.
