Overview: Milwaukee faces a hot and humid weekend with severe Sunday night storms. Heat and humidity persist on Monday, before a cold front ushers in cooler, drier air for the mid-week.
Today: Saturday marks the return of hot and humid conditions to much of Wisconsin, including the Milwaukee area. Morning sunshine will help temperatures rise through the 70s, accompanied by southwest winds around 8 mph. Low clouds roll in by the afternoon leading to partly cloudy skies. Temperatures peak in the mid-80s as dewpoints increase throughout the day. Winds will be a bit gusty, increasing to around 10 mph. By the evening, dewpoints jump into the mid-60s, and winds relax back to around 5 mph under mostly clear skies.
Overnight: Skies will clear out, and southwest winds will decrease to around 5 mph. It will remain warm overnight, with temperatures only cooling into the low-70s overnight and dewpoints hovering in the upper 60s.
Tomorrow: Sunday will feature a repeat of Saturday heat and humidity; storm chances, however, will increase by the evening. Morning temperatures will rise into the 80s under partly cloudy skies, accompanied by southwest winds around 8 mph. Winds will increase to around 14 mph by the afternoon, allowing for high temperatures to top out in the low-90s. With dewpoints hovering in the low-70s, feel-like temperatures could approach 100. This may prompt the National Weather Service to issue a heat advisory. Make sure to stay hydrated and seek air conditioning when you can.
By the evening, a stationary boundary northwest of Milwaukee will kick off a round of showers and thunderstorms. As these storms track southeast, rain chances will sit at 40% in the evening before increasing to 60% after midnight. While timing and coverage of these thunderstorms are still uncertain, the Storm Prediction Center has placed Sunday evening under a Level 1 out of 5 (Marginal) Risk of severe weather with damaging winds being the main threat. Overnight thunderstorms will continue under overcast skies. Temperatures will only cool into the mid-70s as winds swing to the south around 6 mph.

Monday: Looking ahead into early Monday morning, the Storm Prediction Center has issued a Level 2 out of 5 (Slight) Risk of severe weather for the Milwaukee area. This is due to the front intensifying leftover overnight storms. Redeveloped storms will be capable of producing damaging winds and quarter-size hail. Heat, humidity, and storm chances end Monday and lead to drier and cooler midweek. Fortunately, all precipitation chances will come to an end by noon. Temperatures will still top out in the low-90s and dewpoints in the mid-70s, driving feel-like temperatures in the high-90s. South winds will continue for the majority of the day around 10 mph under partly cloudy skies. Overnight the stationary front will push past Milwaukee as a cold front enters, shifting winds to the north at around 5 mph. Low temperatures will be around 70 under mainly clear skies.

Extended: Tuesday we will see the return of cooler and calmer weather. High temperatures will top out in the low-80s with dewpoints in the mid-60s, accompanied by a cool northeast wind around 8 mph under partly cloudy skies. Overnight, winds will turn back to the north and become calm. Temperatures will cool into the upper 60s for a low under clear skies as dewpoints fall back into the comfortable upper 50s. Wednesday brings the return of sunshine as a weak high-pressure system works its way over Wisconsin. Brilliant sunshine will fill the skies for the day and help temperatures reach the low-80s for a high with breezy northeast winds around 12 mph. Overnight, temperatures will bottom out in the mid-60s as winds become calm and swing to the southeast ahead of the next weather-maker, which arrives Thursday.
