The UWM Post is a student newspaper independently run by the students of UW-Milwaukee, bringing original news, arts and culture, and sports reporting to the UWM campus and greater Milwaukee area.
The Post was formally founded with that title in 1956 after the Wisconsin State College – Milwaukee and UW Extension Milwaukee division merged that year to form the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. The paper is ultimately descended from the publications of both schools and has frequently cited 1915 and 1888 as its founding year. Published weekly in print, the newspaper published a new issue every Monday during the fall and spring semesters and was distributed both on campus and in the greater Milwaukee area.
Once the largest independent college weekly in Wisconsin, the newspaper ended its print run in 2012. The UWM Post is now available online every day at uwmpost.com.

Hi, my name is David Loeza, I’m a student here at UWM. I was a part of the Honors college and wrote about something that meant a lot to me. It’s political and deals with immigration. I was wondering if you could give it a read and post it in an opinion column.
Hi David,
Unfortunately this went unseen for awhile. Are you still a student at UWM, and if so would you still have interest in writing for us? We don’t do political op-eds, but we do cover politics.
Hey team,
I’m Jimmy Gutierrez, a reporter and producer over at WUWM, Milwaukee Public Radio. I was wondering if you all have reported at all on the history of student protests at UWM or what your coverage has been like with the current student protests.
We want to get some UWM voices on our interview style show, Lake Effect, tomorrow, if possible. I’m around to talk more to see if this is something you’re interested in — thanks so much in advance!
Hi Jimmy,
Unfortunately we never saw this! Obviously, way too late but I did want to mention that in the future if you would like to get in touch, feel free to email myself (David Go, editor-in-chief) at davidago@uwm.edu with requests or new story/coverage ideas. Thanks!
