Fresh off the release of their latest album, The Lumineers will be performing at the Fiserv Forum on Wednesday, March 11th as part of their North American 2020 tour.
The performance will showcase music from the band’s past albums, including their newest album “III” which focuses on the fictional Sparks family that struggles with addiction, among other issues many Americans face today.

Although The Lumineers’s “III” album speaks on issues most would consider to be on the darker side of things, band member and drummer, Jeremiah Fraites, suggests that it is important to create music that is rooted in real-life stories. Fraites said that the most inspiring things in his life have been rooted in darkness and depression.
“In my own family about 19 years ago I lost my older brother to a heroin overdose,” said Fraites. “I don’t want to come across cold, but he became a statistic, but to my family, it was a tragedy. The album was not meant to be preachy, but we wanted to shine a light on a subject that is taboo.”
When The Lumineers started touring for the first time, they played at the Riverside Theater here in Milwaukee. Now, they are playing at large venues like the Fiserv Forum.

“When we use to play at really small places, we were trying to make it feel like we were playing at a larger venue or stadium and now that we play at larger venues, we want to make it smaller and feel more intimate,” said Fraites.
If you go to this concert, be prepared for songs that range from upbeat performances with a mix of slower, somber songs.
If you are unsure which one the members are Fraites, look for the one in the white shirt, black suspenders and black pants.
Fraites said that the look helps him separate who is on-stage and who he is off-stage.
“It just became this like superhero idea of mine,” said Fraites.

The Lumineers partners with charities across the country to help combat important issues like climate change, homelessness and addiction.
A portion of the ticket sales at the show will go towards The Guest House Milwaukee, a not-for-profit organization that provides shelter to homeless individuals in the Milwaukee area.
You can purchase tickets to the show on the Fiserv Forum’s website.
