Silent Planet, a Los Angeles metalcore band is set to perform at the Majestic Theater in Madison, Thursday, Sept. 22.
Consisting of members Alex Camarena, Thomas Freckleton, Spencer Keene, Garrett Russell and Mitchell Stark, the quintet has recorded two Eps and two full-length albums. In July, the band released their newest album Everything Was Sound after announcing it in late April while on the Vans Warped Tour.
The band has been described as “one of the most innovative new bands in metalcore and offsetting the misogyny rampant in that scene with a message of compassion and tolerance for all”. The past two years Silent Planet, who’s name derives from a C.S Lewis science fiction novel, has heralded into the modern hardcore scene. Their music, “blends post-hardcore dissonance, ambient sections, and unbridled emotion”.
Included in Silent Planet’s inimitability, should be mentioned that band member Russell, holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Psychology and recently revealed he has been diagnosed with Bipolar Disorder. This life experienced is channeled in their music through a brand new character.
