The North Coast Music Festival is an annual music festival that takes place over Labor Day weekend at Union Park in Chicago, Illinois.  From EDM to hip hop to rock, the ninth installment is preparing for its August 31st-September 2nd event. As festival goers anticipate the schedule with set times and stages, there is only room to prepare for the music fans are about to feast upon.


Gramatik

Brooklyn based producer and DJ, Gramatic is a Slovenian EDM musician. His sound includes hip hop, electronica, and trip hop. He is best known for hits like ‘Muy Tranquilo’, ‘Hit That Jive’, and ‘Just Jammin”. Festivals aren’t new to Gramatik, which guarantees an experienced, definitely hyped show. He will be performing Sunday, September 2nd.

DJ Snake

The Grammy-nominated producer and artists originates from Paris. The 32-year-old is best known for collaborations with Diplo, Dillon Francis, Skrillex, and Justin Bieber. He also produced Lady Gag’s 2011 album ‘Born This Way’. His most notable hits are ‘Let Me Love You’, ‘Middle’, and ‘Lean On’. He will be performing Saturday, September 1st.

Snails

SNAILS is also a Canadian DJ and music producer. According to Billboard, his music style is often noted as ‘vomitstep’ with synthesizers and guttural bass gurgles. He’s known for his dubstep, drum and bass, drumstep, and trap…which earned him hits like ‘Frogbass’, ‘Deep in the Night’ and ‘Shake the Ground’. He also has notable collaborations with Big Gigantic and Flux Pavilion. He will perform Friday, August 31st.

The Strumbellas

Best known for their 2016 hit ‘Spirits’, The Strumbellas will perform Saturday, September 1st. The Canadian rock band is an indie hybrid infused with alternative country and as some may say, ‘gothic folk’. The sextuplet consists of Isabel Ritchie, Jeremy Drury, Darryl James, Simon Ward, David Ritter, and Jon Hembrey. Other hits from The Strumbellas include ‘We Don’t Know’ and ‘Young & Wild’.

RL Grime

Henry Alfred Steinway, or better knwon by his stage name RL Grime (previously Clockwork), is known for his trap, grime, and bass music. As a producer, he is best known for his work with Chief Keef. He’s also known for his collaborations with Skrillex and What So Not. He became notable for his hit ‘Core’. His raunchy drum and bass has earned him hits like ‘I Wanna Know’ and ‘Stay For It’. He will perform Saturday, September 1st.
