This thriller has a slow, yet steady incline that makes you wanting more. Although the film is set in one setting, the camera angles & story, also written by Vollrath, keeps you on your toes until the final act. Tension that is seen from multiple perspectives is not only unique but delivered in such a powerful way. An interesting narrative, a brilliantly dreadful performance by Joseph and an original story that overcomes stale stereotypes. 7/10

The Devil All The Time

This mysterious crime thriller with this year’s largest recognizable cast is well worth the investment. A grim reality with a strong overtone of religious struggles really captivates Campos’ idea of storytelling. The dark and ire road this film paves is a bit complex at first, although ropes you in with it’s easy to follow narrative accompanied by its absolute gorgeous cinematography. With A Place Beyond The Pines kind of vibe this film gives off, its way of sucking you into the story, wondering what will progress next is why The Devil All The Time is one of this year’s best. 8.5/10

The Tax Collector

A drama as promising as this, LaBeouf tattooing his chest peace on in real life just for a film, you must believe it is a film worth viewing, I was wrong. The trailer misleads the story, telling it one way, which for most trailers, they mislead you, although usually in a good way, again, not here. Generic bloody beat downs, thug fights and boring back stories without any meat; leaves this film feeling hollow and missing soul components. Even after Shia forever tattooing his chest peace on, it does not get as much screen time as it deserves after this bland narrative. 4.5/10
