The annual Milwaukee Pride festival is an extravagant celebration of all things beautiful and queer, held every year on the second weekend of June since 1987.

For the last two years, though, the festivities were canceled due to the pandemic – and the community felt the loss.

Miraculously, the powers-that-be decided that it was safe enough to bring Pride back this year for a two-day Pridetoberfest celebration that, to UWM Post reporters Destiny DeVooght and Brady Jager, had the key ingredients for a good time (despite the chaotic energy).

Listen to DeVooght and Jager talk about what Pride means to them, how Pridetoberfest measured up, a brief detour about Uber and Lyft prices in Milwaukee and, of course, their fondest memory of spooky pride 2021.
