On Dec. 12, the UWM Professional Cinema Society will be putting on the 77th Student Film & Video Festival in the Union Cinema. The festival is run by and for students of the UWM film program, put together by student officers and features student work.

These films aren’t throwaway projects; several have received very high acclaim. Laz’s Whippin Kitchen, for example, has received much praise and was accepted into the Oaxaca Film Festival in Mexico.

There will be free refreshments available to those who attend. The Professional Cinema Society has obtained free pizza from Ian’s and 50 Insomnia cookies. The event is sponsored by Milwaukee Film, Milwaukee Productions and Ian’s Pizza.

The UWM Professional Cinema Society is trying to get their biggest turnout ever this year, so come and support them, or just take the free food. The event will run from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
