Overview: Low-pressure systems continue to govern this week’s weather, with the potential for intense thunderstorms on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Today: A balmy 63 degrees welcomes the city on Monday morning. Winds are slightly stronger than usual, with speeds averaging 11 mph and the occasional gust breaching 18 mph. The sun peeks out a bit in the morning, but clouds dominate the sky by the afternoon. Lunchtime temps provide the day’s high of 70 degrees, accompanied by mild winds.

Tonight: There is a possibility of scattered showers in the evening, although it likely forms north of the city, not affecting Milwaukee. Otherwise, expect temperatures to fall into the low 60s, eventually hitting 59 degrees. The winds remain mild for the remainder of the evening, and clouds continue to fill the sky.

Tomorrow: The Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has issued a that Milwaukee is at slight risk for a severe thunderstorm overnight. This system is supposed to be centered over northwest Wisconsin, but Milwaukee is still well within range to experience intense winds, heavy rainfall, and potentially hail. However, the brunt of the storm will subside by early morning, leaving the city with temperatures in the low 70s. Rain continues to affect the area throughout the day, although in much smaller, isolated showers. The day’s high will be 78 degrees, and the skies will be cloudy throughout the day.

Extended: As it gets further into the week, the accuracy of these storm predictions weakens. That said, it is mostly certain that rain will dominate the rest of this week’s forecast. On Wednesday, expect precipitation chances of 60%. The SPC states that Milwaukee is still at risk for thunderstorms, although the time is up for debate. Most models predict early morning, with another bout of storms arriving mid-afternoon. The high for Wednesday is 67 degrees, with a low of 58. Similar conditions are expected to arrive on Thursday and Friday, with steadily decreasing precipitation chances. Thursday has a high of 58 and a low of 46, and Friday has a high of 43 and a low of 39 degrees.
