Overview: A picture-perfect Saturday won’t last. Skies become overcast Sunday with rain chances returning. Temperatures remain below average, staying in the high-60s to the low-70s through the extended forecast.  

Today: Saturday will be a picture-perfect summer day across Milwaukee and much of Wisconsin. Brilliant sunshine in the morning will help temperatures rise through the 60s with a breezy west wind around 15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph. Low-70s will be on tap by the afternoon with wind turning to the northwest and staying consistent under sunny skies. By the evening, winds will begin to relax and eventually become calm.

Overnight: Overcast skies will fill in overnight, but that won’t stop temperatures from crashing into the low-50s for an overnight low with a light northwest around 5 mph.    

Tomorrow: Sunday will be another below-average summer day across the Milwaukee area. Temperatures will rise through the 50s in the morning with winds out of the east around 5 mph under overcast skies. Overcast conditions continue through the afternoon, as high temperatures will only reach the low-60s with an increasing east wind around 8 mph. A low-pressure system will be passing through northern Illinois during the evening hours. Milwaukee will be on the northern side of this system which will lead to a 10% shower chance; however, most will stay dry. After midnight winds will turn to the northeast with speeds staying consistent. Temperatures will hold up in the mid-50s under clearing skies.     

Monday: Cooler-than-average temperatures continue with thunderstorm chances returning over the extended forecast. Monday will be a transitional day of weather across the Milwaukee area. Temperatures will be able to reach the mid-60s for a high accompanied by a breezy northeast wind around 14 mph under a mix of sun and clouds. Overnight skies will become overcast with variable winds around 5 mph which will put lows in the mid-50s. Furthermore, a weak high-pressure system sets up to the east of Wisconsin overnight but is quickly pushed out by a low-pressure system that moves in Tuesday night. 

Extended: Tuesday will be a mostly dry day with overcast skies hovering overhead. Temperatures won’t change all that much, only making it into the high-60s with southeast winds around 8 mph. During the overnight hours Tuesday, a low-pressure system bearing a cold front will sweep through the area. With this weather maker brings a 50% chance of showers and embedded thunderstorms, starting after midnight and continue into Wednesday. Besides the stormy weather winds will ease to around 5 mph with lows only making down into the mid-50s again. A 40% chance of on-and-off showers and thunderstorms will continue on Wednesday as the low-pressure system moves through Wisconsin. High temperatures will make it into the low-70s with northeast winds around 10 mph during the daytime. Into the evening, rain and thunderstorm chances should exit the area. Winds will shift to the north overnight around 5 mph as temperatures sink into the mid-50s with clearing skies. Between Tuesday and Wednesday, the Milwaukee area could pick up a quarter to half an inch of new precipitation.
