Today: Tuesday will be very overcast compared to Monday. Temperatures will be able to rise through the 30’s in the morning and top out around 40 degrees for a day time high. Winds will be very gusty throughout much of the day with sustained speeds between 10-15 mph and gusts up to 30 mph from the southwest with overcast conditions. As previously mentioned, overcast conditions will hold control over Milwaukee’s skies for the day. With this happening there is a small chance of an isolated shower in the morning (10% chance). Most will stay dry over the Milwaukee area, but don’t be surprised if you see a few rain drops.

Overnight: Winds will remain elevated with gusts around 20 mph and sustained speeds (10-15 mph) overnight. Overcast conditions will hold as temperatures slip down into the lower 30’s for a night time low.

Tomorrow: Wednesday morning skies will clear which will allow for some brilliant sunshine for the majority of the day. Temperatures will rise through the 30s again and by mid day be able to reach a high temperature in the mid 40’s. Winds won’t change much, still gusty but now form the west with sustained speeds around (10-15 mph) and gusts up to 25 mph. Skies will  begin to cloud over by the evening and into the overnight. Winds will decrease overnight as well becoming calm by Thursday morning.

Extended: Starting Thursday the Milwaukee area will see above average high temperatures. We’ll trade highs in the 20’s and 30’s for the mid to upper 50’s by the weekend. This is curiosity of a dome of strong high pressure which will approach from the west and set up over the mid Atlantic states. This high pressure system will keep Milwaukee dry and skies mostly sunny for the most part although Thursday will feature more clouds by the early afternoon and evening than Friday which will feature more sun throughout the day. Winds on Thursday will start from the west with sustained speeds between 5-10 mph, however they will turn more southwesterly by the late afternoon, and decrease to under 5 mph throughout the rest of the day. Skies will look to clear overnight Thursday as winds stay calm. Friday will be more of the same, but with brighter skies and winds turning to the southeast still under 5 mph for the majority of the day. Wind speeds will increase a little bit in the evening and remain elevated overnight with sustained speeds between 5-10 mph with skies becoming mostly cloudy. Saturday the dome of high pressure will start to move farther off to the east because of our next weather maker which is a low pressure system with a warm front which will bisect Wisconsin from the southwest. This warm front will further increase Milwaukee’s temperatures which are already above average, produce overcast sky conditions, and stir up the winds. Winds will start out under 10 mph Saturday morning, but by the afternoon speeds will begin to increase with sustained speeds between 10-15 mph. These speeds will remain elevated throughout the rest of Saturday and into the overnight hours with overcast sky conditions.
