A low-pressure system located to the west causes gloomy skies and faster wind speeds. By the afternoon, scattered showers are possible with temperatures reaching a high up to 67 degrees; however, wind speeds are expected to slow down to 10 mph with 15-mph wind gusts.
Tonight: Into the evening, temperatures drop to a low of 60 with wind speeds slowing down to 6 mph. Overcast skies continue to linger throughout the night.
Tomorrow: Thursday brings overcast skies and temperatures reaching into the high-60s with winds up to 8 mph with 16-mph gusts. Into the afternoon, temperatures reach a high of 68 degrees with mostly cloudy skies, wind speeds decrease to 7 mph with 15-mph gusts. Into the evening hours, partly cloudy skies are expected with temperatures dropping into low 60s. Wind speeds are expected to slow down as well with wind speeds at 6 mph with 13-mph wind gusts.
Friday: Friday starts off with more overcast skies and temperatures reaching into the mid-60s with wind speeds reaching to 12 mph and wind gusts reaching up to 22 mph. There is a 20% chance for scattered showers until midday. By the afternoon, temperatures reach a high of 66 degrees with wind speeds reaching up to 11 mph with gusts reaching to 19 mph. Into the evening, showers are expected with temperatures reaching into the high-50s, wind speeds are expected to slow down to 17 mph. A warm front emerges from a stationary front located in northern Illinois, headed north.
Weekend Outlook: With the weekend finally here, Saturday brings a high of 63 and a low of 59 with overcast skies hanging around all day. With that, showers are expected all day as well. A maximum wind gust up to 25 mph is possible. A low-pressure system is located in Iowa, bringing in higher wind speeds and overcast skies. Into Sunday temperatures reach a high of 60 and a low of 59 with more overcast skies. Showers are expected throughout the day along with a small rumble of thunder.
