Saturday
The day starts quiet with some early morning fog in spots, especially inland. By mid morning skies turn mostly sunny, and with a south breeze picking up to 10-15 mph, temperatures climb fast. Highs reach the low to mid 80s, warm for late September and feeling more like summer. By evening, a weak cold front drifts in. It won’t bring rain, but it does shift winds more westerly and ushers in cooler air overnight. Lows dip into the mid 40s to low 50s under mostly clear skies.
Saturday Night
As the cold front drifts south across Wisconsin, the wind shifts to the west and a cooler, drier air mass taking over. Skies remain mostly clear overnight, with lows falling into the mid 40s inland and around 50 closer to the lake.
Sunday
A noticeable change. High pressure builds in behind the front, keeping skies bright but temperatures cooler. Afternoon highs top out in the mid 70s, with a comfortable northwest breeze around 10 mph. It’s a crisp, early fall kind of day. Sunday night will be calm and cool, with lows again in the 40s inland and closer to 50 near the lake.
Sunday Night
Clear and cool. Temperatures fall into the 40s away from the lake, with low 50s closer to the shoreline. Winds turn light out of the northeast.
Monday
High pressure remains in control. Expect sunshine most of the day with only a few passing clouds. Winds swing more southerly again at 5-10 mph, allowing highs to return to the upper 70s to near 80. It’s another pleasant day, but still dry.
Tuesday
Temperatures climb a bit higher as the ridge of high pressure holds. Expect highs in the low 80s with light south winds. Forecast models hint at more moisture working in, so there is a slight chance of a passing shower late in the day, but most areas will stay dry.
Wednesday
By midweek, another push of cooler air from the north is possible. Skies trend partly cloudy, with highs in the upper 70s. Depending on how far south high pressure builds, winds may turn more easterly, keeping the lakefront a touch cooler. Rain chances remain very low, but can’t be ruled out completely if a weak disturbance clips the region.
