The Say Hello Project is the UWM Post’s way of introducing students, faculty and visitors to the Panther community. This week we’re featuring three women on campus. Let’s say hello to Tori, Rachael and Aaliyah!

Tori Hayward

Tori Hayward is a second year student majoring in women and gender studies. Her interest in sex education has shaped a lot of her collegiate choices, including her decision to attend UW-Milwaukee. Hayward wants to get her masters sex education, too. Her favorite location on campus is the Women’s Resource Center (which is also where she works). She finds the office comforting and quite; some of her favorite campus memories happened there. Hayward recounted how much fun she had working on the Vagina Monologues. The women in the show met every Sunday for four months. Not only was the Vagina Monologues fun, but Hayward said it was “empowering and validating.”

rachael

Rachael, a sophomore studying physiology, came to UW-Milwaukee to upgrade from her small town to the big city. She loves her house in Milwaukee, but she enjoys spending time at friends’ houses and hanging around Collective drinking coffee. She’s excited about her most recent purchase, a pair of red, second-hand leather boots. One of her favorite events on campus was when Sen. Bernie Sanders debated Sec. Hillary Clinton.  She thought that was “really cool.”

Alliya

Freshman journalism major, Aaliyah Murphy, loves UW-Milwaukee for its diversity. When she chose UWM, she said she could see herself here verses any other campus she visited. Murphy is excited to be part of campus; she loves the random, frequent events. One of her favorite campus hangouts is the lawn near Merrill Hall. Murphy said that she is excited about the future and is “waiting for the fun!”
