As the first month of schools comes to a close, UW-Milwaukee is offering the PRIDE Survey in order to both gather information as well as offer individualized academic and personal support.

For students new to UWM, life here can take a bit of getting used to. The PRIDE Survey is a short 30 question survey, which takes about five to ten minutes to complete. Located on the Student Success Center homepage and all students need to do to access it is select the gold “Take the PRIDE Survey” icon. The priority deadline for this survey is Oct. 28.

The PRIDE Survey assesses students on; academic planning, academic engagement, work experience, out of class experience and sense of belonging at UWM. Students will be able to view their results in these categories through charts on a personalized dashboard. Students are able to log back in at any time to view their results.

“The University encourages students to take the PRIDE Survey because it is a good way to reflect on their own performance,” said Brennan O’Lena, the Coordinator of Success Initiatives in the Student Success Center. “From a university standpoint, it provides the Advisors, Peer Mentors, and other Professional Support Staff an opportunity to offer students great, individualized resources.”

While all students are able to take this survey, the emphasis is on students who have a Peer Mentor, are a Lawton/Life Impact Scholar or live in University Housing. These students are encouraged to complete the survey but then also meet with their Peer Mentor, or a staff member at the Student Success Center to go over their results.

The Student Success Center, located at Bolton Hall 120, is a place for students to get connected to UWM as well as resources for academic and personal success.

If any student has issues they can email ssc@uwm.edu or stop into the Student Success Center.
