The UW-Milwaukee Police Department (UWM-PD) has made a temporary move from the Sandburg Residence Hall to Northwest Quad Building B, until the department makes a permanent move in the coming years to where the Norris Health Center was previously.
UWM-PD’s temporary address will be 2025 E. Newport Ave. NWQ Building B, Suite 1457. Visitors should use the East Newport Avenue parking circle on the north side of the building and the Day Care Surface lot, according to a news release from UWM.
The move occurred because of construction and related noise concerns in the entirety of Sandburg’s West Tower.
“It’s exciting. It’s new for me and the other officers. The morale has been upbeat…. Change is good,” said Community Policing Officer, Craig Rafferty. “Sometimes it really is. I think it’s beneficial to not just me, but the rest of the officers.”
The office is accessible 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. UWM-PD’s phone numbers remain the same, 911 or 414-229-9911 for emergencies and 414-229-4627 for non-emergencies.
