The Wisconsin Department of Justice declined the lawsuit that two former UWM students and Student Association members, Taylor Scott and M. Samir Siddique, filed against the Board of Regents earlier this afternoon.
Filed on Jan. 14 with the Milwaukee County Circuit Court, the lawsuit claimed that UWM administration did not have the right to nullify the May elections, despite findings from a third party investigation indicating there were serious problems with how the election was conducted.
Defendants were notified around 3p.m. today that the Department of Justice dismissed the entire case against the UWM administration.
Taylor Scott was not available to comment.
