Our second segment in our feature series from the NCAA Tournament in Milwaukee from correspondent Josh Vinson

Milwaukee, WI—- With so many college teams, sometimes it’s hard to know all the players or all the teams. It the greatest thing about March Madness. It gives you an opportunity to see teams play on the national level that you wouldn’t normally see depending on the conference that team plays in and the area of the country you live in.
However, despite the Oregon Ducks being eliminated by the Wisconsin Badgers, one name people here in Wisconsin will always remember and a name people on the national level will now know, if they didn’t know already is, Joseph Young.
Number 3, a Houston native, played a great game against Wisconsin. That’s something that was hard to do, seeing that the game was held in Milwaukee and UW clearly had home court advantage. There was no fear in Young.
“The crowd makes the noise but we are on the court,” said Young when asked about playing against Wisconsin after Oregon beat BYU. He went on to say he was going to treat this game as a road game and mentioned Oregon is really good on the road.
Unfortunately for the Ducks their basketball season ended in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. However, Young’s game is still fresh in everyone’s mind. He had 29 points on the night and was 4/7 on the 3-point line. His 3-pointers came at critical times in the game. The groans of the crowd were ever so loud seeing him at the 3pt line firing away deep, sometimes several feet from behind the arc.
He is such a quick and explosive player and has great court vision. He ran the offense very well and took shots that were smart. Young’s game was very impressive and made himself a household name. People in the Pac-12 are familiar with him and rightfully so. It can be argued that Young’s game against Wisconsin was so good that with another year of play like that, he would definitely take his game to the next level.
Even though the Ducks were defeated, Young and his teammates have no reason have their heads down. The Ducks had a great season in a tough Pac-12 conference and played a great game vs. Wisconsin. They good thing is the majority of that roster will be there next year. With Young having the opportunity to continue to prefect his craft, that UO team could be very dangerous and make a lot of noise in a rowdy Pac-12 conference and could very well go dancing again.
The nation is now well acquainted with Mr. Joseph Young and scouts are too. Young is one of those players one just can’t wait to see continue to grow and learn the game and become better. Talking with Young, you can automatically tell this kid is very mature and have a high basketball IQ and knows this game.
Take notes now, you haven’t seen the last of Joseph Young.
