Lost amid the frenzy of Black Friday and Cyber Monday is its more tame counterpart, Small Business Saturday. The holiday was created by American Express in 2010 in efforts to increase retail sales in the shopping-crazed weekend. Many Milwaukee-area businesses offer sales to customers eager to find Christmas gifts a few weeks ahead of the holiday. Here are three Milwaukee small businesses to shop at this Saturday, Nov. 30.
Midwest Shores Co. is a rock and crystal shop located at 207 E Wisconsin Avenue. They offer rough/polished stones, crystals and fossils. This quaint and cozy little shop in downtown Milwaukee will be offering 30% off a $30 order. This special deal can also be combined with rewards. Midwest Shores will be open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on small business Saturday.
Sweetly Baked MKE is a new small business bakery located at 207 E. Buffalo St. in the Marshall Building. This unique bakery has regular gourmet desserts, infused baked goods and wine/cocktails. For their first small business Saturday they will be offering deals on their wine with five-dollar rosé wine and bubbles. One unique aspect of this local bakery is the availability of dessert flights and wine pairings. Sweetly Baked will be open from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
Edie Boutique is a clothing, shoes, jewelry, accessories and gift boutique located at 244 N Broadway. This stylish small business on Broadway has a varied collection of women’s clothing, baby clothing, jewelry, wedding necessities, holiday gifts and more. The boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on small business Saturday with various special deals available. There are also items available on their online shop.
