The day begins with lingering haze from Canadian wildfire smoke, which may impact air quality and visibility in the morning. An Air Quality Advisory remains in effect until at least noon. As the day progresses, expect partly sunny skies with high temperatures reaching the mid 70s inland and the mid 60s near Lake Michigan. Winds will be light and variable, shifting to the northeast at 5 to 10 mph in the afternoon.

In the evening, a weak upper air disturbance seems to be moving through northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin may bring a 20% chance of light showers, primarily affecting central Wisconsin. Overnight lows will dip into the lower 50s.


Saturday, June 7

High pressure continues to dominate, bringing mostly dry conditions to the area. Expect partly to mostly cloudy skies with high temperatures in the upper 60s inland and the lower 60s along the lakeshore. Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Saturday night will be mostly clear with lows in the mid-50s. There is a slight chance (20%) of isolated showers late at night as a weak disturbance approaches from the northwest.


Sunday, June 8

A more active weather pattern sets in as a cold front associated with a low-pressure system in south central Canada approaches. This will bring a 70% chance of showers and thunderstorms, especially in the afternoon and evening. Some storms may be strong, with the potential for gusty winds and small hail. High temperatures will be in the upper 60s to near 70°F. Winds will be from the south at 10 to 15 mph, shifting to the northwest behind the front.

Overnight, showers and thunderstorms will continue, with lows in the mid-50s.

Monday, June 9

The upper-level low pressure continues to influence the region, keeping conditions unsettled. Expect a 60% chance of showers and a few thunderstorms throughout the day. High temperatures will be in the lower 70s. Winds will be from the northwest at 10 to 15 mph.

Monday night will see decreasing clouds and a 20% chance of lingering showers, with lows in the lower 50s.


Tuesday, June 10

High pressure builds in, bringing drier and more stable conditions. Expect mostly sunny skies with high temperatures in the low 70s. Winds will be from the northeast at 5 to 10 mph.

Tuesday night will be clear with lows in the mid-50s.
