Today: An Extreme Heat Warning will continue to be in effect through Sunday for Milwaukee County. A dominant high-pressure system is carrying moist air from the Gulf into Wisconsin, as hot temperatures are ushered in from the central U.S. Clear skies and temperatures in the upper 70s kick off Sunday with southerly winds gusting from 20-25 mph. These strong winds are expected to cause swim risks along the lakefront today, so be cautious in the water when going to the beach to cool off. Dewpoint temperatures linger around 70 degrees through the day, causing muggy conditions outdoors. By midday high temperatures look to reach 95 degrees in Milwaukee, leading to heat indices in the low to mid 100s and possibly higher in the Milwaukee metro area. Overall, the day can be expected to be another repeat of yesterday.

Tonight: Sunny skies transition to a clear night sky as we cool to an overnight low near 77 degrees. Breezy winds stick around, with gusts reaching 30 mph occasionally. Dewpoints continue hovering around 70 degrees into the night, ending Sunday feeling warm and humid.

National Weather Service Severe Weather Outlook; valid Monday

Tomorrow: The Excessive Heat Warning persists into Monday for the first half of the afternoon before a cold front arrives to finally bring us relief. Morning temperatures will begin in the mid 70s before quickly warming into the 90s by afternoon with the sun dominating the sky. Dewpoint temperatures look to reach the mid 70s, feeling even stickier than the weekend. Stronger winds continue, gusting from the southwest around 25-30 mph. A low-pressure system in Canada looks to cater cooler air from the north, finally breaking the streak of hot temperatures and humid air. A line of storms look to develop along the cold front, causing the Storm Prediction Center to assess a marginal risk of severe weather for Southeastern Wisconsin. Most models are in agreement with the timing of these storms to occur in the late afternoon/early evening with the largest threats being large hail and heavy downpours. The storms look to push out the heat and humidity with lingering clouds overnight and a low temperature near 70 degrees.

College of DuPage NEXLAB 12Z NAM; valid 7 p.m. Monday. Storms associated with the cold front moving through Wisconsin.
