Today, June 24: The dangerous heat and humidity that have been hanging around look to finally break as a cold front finally comes through to push it out of the area. Rain showers and a few storms could stick around in the early morning hours as a result of the front lingering around the area. Behind the front, we’ll still have those muggy conditions sticking around, but temperatures will be cooler than they have been. Highs will be in the upper 70s, but could reach into the low 80s if we get some clearing in the early afternoon. Winds will also calm down, with sustained winds topping out between 10 and 15 mph. Later in the afternoon, another round of showers and storms is expected to occur as a result of the sunshine earlier in the afternoon. The Storm Prediction Center has placed us under a marginal risk for severe storms, with damaging wind being the main concern for any storms that do develop. Be sure to stay weather aware as the evening rolls on!

Tonight: Storms look to be on and off through the midnight hour, but will give way to on and off rain showers. Temperatures will fall into the low 60s, and dew points will fall into the mid-to-upper 50s, giving us some reprieve from the oppressive conditions we had over the weekend.

Tomorrow, June 25: Clouds and rain look to stick around for much of your Wednesday. Temperatures will warm into the low 70s as a result, and dew points will also jump up a little, making it muggy yet again. There will be a couple of drier points in the day, but clouds will stick around all day. The Storm Prediction Center has put us under another marginal risk for severe storms, with damaging winds being the main threat. However, there is a good deal of uncertainty surrounding whether or not these storms will develop. Stay tuned for any updates! Overnight, chances of rain will linger as temperatures fall into the mid-60s.
