Today: Wednesday this week will serve as another kickoff to a hot rest of the week and weekend. Sunshine will be plentiful on your Wednesday morning, helping our temperatures to sky rocket up into the high 80’s throughout the day. Dew point values should dry out a bit dropping back into the comfortable mid to upper 50’s. West winds will start around 10 mph on your Wednesday morning, but diminishing throughout the day becoming calm in the evening after our next weather maker. Speaking of, our next weather maker will be a weakening cold front dropping in from the northwest throughout the late afternoon into the early evening. Ahead of this front, isolated showers and thunderstorms will form in Northwestern Wisconsin (around 1 p.m.) and begin to drop to the southeast toward the Milwaukee area. Models continue to debate about storm coverage during the passing of this front. If any storms move through Milwaukee they would arrive by early evening and wrap up around dusk (5 p.m.- 7 p.m.). Finally, it is possible that any storm that does form may be on the stronger side which could produce some gusty winds and small hail. In light of this the Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1 out of 5 risk of severe weather throughout almost all of Wisconsin. All in all we’re not anticipating much severe weather and not everyone will see rain.

SPC, Severe Weather Out Look Valid Wednesday (7/2/25)
Tonight: After any storms move out over Lake Michigan, skies will begin to clear out over Milwaukee. Low temperatures will rest in the upper half of the 60’s overnight with winds turning more northwesterly, but remaining calm. Furthermore, dew point values will be increasing into the low 60’s overnight and into your Thursday morning.
Tomorrow: Just like Wednesday, your Thursday morning will start out mostly sunny which will continue throughout most of the day with high temperatures topping out into the mid 80’s and wind from the the northwest, but turning more southeasterly throughout the day gusting 5 to 10 mph. With this shift in the wind we are going to get back into some of that humidity. Dew points will be rising through your Thursday getting back into those upper sticky 60’s. Moreover, the low pressure system that brought us isolated showers and storms on Wednesday will be off to our east, however Milwaukee will still be on the back side of this weather maker and with the heating of the day and rising dew points this could kick off some more isolated showers and storms in the late evening. Some of these storms could become strong to severe with gusty winds and hail being the main concerns as they move from west to east. Guidance from models is still uncertain about the coverage and intensity of storms so, for now the Storm Prediction Center has issued a level 1 out of 5 risk of severe weather for most of southern Wisconsin. An upgrade is possible in future forecasts as we get closer, so stay tuned. Just like Wednesday though, some may get rain and some may not, it all depends on where the showers and storms track. Overnight clouds and rain showers will persist but start to clear out slowly towards Friday morning with low temperatures staying in the upper 60’s.

SPC, Severe Weather Out Look Valid Thursday (7/3/25)
Friday (Independence Day) – Sunday: Unfortunately we are going to be in an active weather pattern with many chances for showers and thunderstorms off and on during the weekend. Furthermore, heat and humidity are going to be a theme this weekend as well. Your Friday morning will begin with overcast skies and leftover rain showers from the slow moving low pressure system off to the east. Skies should become mostly sunny during the day with winds turning from the southeast to more of a southerly direction gusting 5 to 10 mph. Highs should rise into the high 80’s to near 90 degrees and dew point values will continue to stick in the upper half of the 60’s. For now it looks like it will be dry and mostly clear skies for firework time, however if headed out to fireworks, ensure to stay hydrated as it will remain warm even with the sun down. Saturday looks to be the hottest day with highs in the low 90s and dew points nudging 70 degrees. The day will be mostly sunny, then at night another cold front looks to drop in from the northwest which could lead to a broken line of thunderstorms to track through the Milwaukee area in the evening with lows hovering in the high 60’s. Sunday we look to cool down a bit into the mid 80’s for a high and lows only cooling back into the mid 60’s. with dew points remaining high. Finally, more chances for showers and thunderstorms will continue for the overnight of Sunday.
