Skies will be sunny and clear in the morning, before turning to overcast in the early evening and into the night, with a slight chance for thunderstorms to occur in the late afternoon, but severe risk is low for the day. Winds will be light out of the south at 5 mph with gusts topping out around 10 mph.

Tonight: Thunderstorms move into the area starting at 10 p.m. and continue throughout most of the night, ending finally around 3 a.m. Winds will slowly become calm as night wears on and still remain out of the south, coupled with temperatures in the lower 70s.

Tomorrow: Friday continues the trend of high temperatures, with a daily high in the upper 80s to low 90s. Dewpoints will be higher in the mid 70s, leading to a heat index of just over 95 degrees. This, along with mostly clear skies and strong solar heating, could cause heat exhaustion or heat stroke when outdoors or inside a building without AC. Winds will continue to be out of the south, but pick up to 10 mph with gusts around 15 mph.

Saturday, July 26th – Monday, July 28th: Saturday continues the trend of warm weather with a high in the low 90s, coupled with clear skies and a dewpoint in the mid 70s to bring the heat index into the lower 100s. There’s a slight chance for thunderstorms in the evening, but severe weather is unlikely. Sunday sees a break in the heatwave, with temperatures falling down to the upper 70s and dewpoints staying in the high 60s for most of the day. Showers and the occasional thunderstorm are expected throughout the area, but a lack of energy in the air means severe weather is not expected. Monday is similar to Sunday, with a chance for showers and thunderstorms throughout the day and into the night. Temperatures will be higher again in the upper 70s, with dewpoints in the lower 70s.
