Today: A Beach Hazards Statement has been released to account for a High Swim Risk. It will remain in effect until 1 p.m. today, as a response to 3 to 6 foot waves affecting the Milwaukee area this morning. In tandem, a marginal risk for severe thunderstorms has also been issued for Milwaukee. As the storm forms Sunday night over southern Minnesota, northwest winds push the system toward southern Wisconsin. There is some discrepancy on where it will end up by this morning, although it most likely will settle above Milwaukee rather than further north. Assuming it does land here, our morning will start off with scattered showers and a morning low of 71. As the day develops, so will the storm, striking in its peak around the afternoon. This is also when you will experience the daytime high of 78.

NWS SPC Severe Weather Outlook; valid Monday

Tonight: Storms will continue into the evening, slowing down but picking back up again around midnight. Beware that all of this rain could lead to minor flooding in a few locations due to rivers rising!

Tomorrow: A few storms may linger in the early hours of Tuesday morning, but it should subside by the afternoon. Our morning low will be 71 again, and as the rain recedes the afternoon high will warm up to the upper 70’s. By the evening, a high pressure system will have settled over Milwaukee, meaning the storms are over and ideal conditions will follow. Expect overcast skies for most of the day, with clouds breaking up a little in the evening, although not substantially.

Extended: By Wednesday, the high pressure system will have fully taken root and there will be little chance of precipitation. Expect a mostly cloudy sky as well, while those leftover clouds from Monday hang around. A glimpse of autumn looks to settle in, with the low of 64 and the high hanging in the mid 70’s. Thursday will be much sunnier and tepid, the high for the day hanging around 73, and a low in the mid 60’s. Friday will be much of the same just warmer, with a low of 66 and a high of 80.
