Today: A cold front moves through around 6 a.m. today, causing showers with the occasional rumble of thunder or flash of lightning but nothing severe is expected to occur. Temperatures will be mid 60s in the morning before quickly falling into the low 50s into the night. Winds will be breezy tomorrow with an average speed of 15 mph with gusts topping out in the low 20 mph range. 

Tonight: Temperatures continue to fall into the upper 40s overnight, finally stopping at 48 degrees. Skies turn to partly cloudy as a high pressure system moves through, coupled with slower winds out of the northwest at 10 mph, with gusts reaching 15 mph at their strongest.

Tomorrow: A weak high pressure system flows over southern Illinois, causing temperatures to remain cooler again on Thursday, with a max in the high 50s and almost no cloud cover throughout the day.  A strong low pressure system moves in overnight, causing temperatures to drop into the high 40s coupled with showers starting at 1 a.m. that continue into Friday morning. Winds remain light at 10 mph with gusts topping out at 20 mph.

Friday, September 5th – Sunday, September 7th: There’s a chance for light showers early in the morning Friday, before quickly being replaced by partly sunny skies and temperatures in the low 60s along with breezy winds at 15 mph. Saturday has similar conditions, with a high in the low 60s and mostly clear skies. Winds will be predominantly out of the west at 10 mph. A high pressure moves in overnight, bringing with it clear skies and warmer temperatures in the mid 60s.
