Friday:

Friday will start off mild and mostly quiet, but a weak cold front dropping in from the northwest will try to spark some light showers as the morning goes on. The air near the surface is still quite dry, though, so any early precipitation may struggle to reach the ground at first, you might just notice some passing sprinkles or virga (rain falling but evaporating in the sky) before a better chance of light rain develops closer to midday. The best chance for a few scattered showers will be near and south of Milwaukee into afternoon, though most areas will stay dry overall. Winds will pick up from the south-southwest at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 20 mph, keeping highs in the upper 60s to around 70F.

Friday Night:

Clouds gradually thin out, with cooler and calmer air moving in behind the front. Lows will settle into the upper 40s to low 50s, and the breeze will relax to around 5-10 mph from the west. A quiet, seasonable fall night overall.

Saturday:

High pressure edges back in, giving us a pleasant start to the weekend. Expect partly to mostly sunny skies, light west-northwest winds around 10 mph, and comfortable highs in the low to mid 60s, just a touch cooler than Friday. A few patches of clouds may linger in the afternoon as the upper-level trough passes to our east, but no rain is expected. A great day for outdoor plans or a walk along the lakefront.

Saturday Night:

Clear and cool as calm air and dry skies take hold. Lows will drop into the mid to upper 40s inland and near 50 along the lake. Winds turn light from the northwest, setting up a crisp, quiet night.

Sunday:

The warming trend resumes as high pressure slides east and southerly flow returns. Expect plenty of sunshine early, turning partly cloudy later in the day. Highs rebound into the low 70s with a south breeze at 10-15 mph. A fantastic autumn day that’ll feel warmer and more comfortable than Saturday.

Monday:

A cold front pushes in from the west, bringing our next chance for rain and a few rumbles of thunder. Scattered showers and isolated storms look most likely during the afternoon and evening hours (around a 20-40% chance). No severe weather is expected, but some spots could see brief downpours and gusty winds as the front passes. Highs climb to around 70-73F ahead of the front with southwest winds 15-20 mph, before shifting northwest overnight and ushering in cooler air. Lows fall into the upper 40s inland and low 50s near the lake.

Tuesday:

Cooler and calmer air settles in behind Monday’s front. Expect a mix of clouds and sunshine, with highs around the mid 60s which is closer to normal for this time of year. Northwest winds around 10-15 mph will make it feel crisp but pleasant. Any leftover showers should end early, leaving a dry and quiet finish to the period.
