Today: The dry and quiet weather trend continues for Milwaukee. Temperatures look to reach above average, thanks to a southwest wind bringing warm air into the area. In fact, the pocket of warm air moving in could bring the potential of seeing virga. Virga is a weather phenomena where precipitation occurs, but doesn’t reach the ground. This is because the air below the pocket of rain is dry, so the air absorbs moisture before it hits the ground. If virga were to occur, it’d look like a cloud with streaks of rain below it. Besides the chance of seeing virga, rain chances remain relatively low as periodic cloud cover takes course for the day. Temperatures look to reach a high of 61, and as weather stays calm for the evening.

Tonight: A small low-pressure system tracks north of our area, directly backed by a high-pressure system. Before the night ends, partly cloudy conditions are expected as temperatures fall to 48 degrees as a low.
Tomorrow: The two aforementioned pressure systems look to work together to carry a cold front into the region, where winds will shift from the northwest. Temperatures tomorrow look to reach the mid 50s with sunny skies throughout the day. Gusty winds will return, with gusts reaching around 30 mph as the high pressure continues to weaken during the course of the day. As that system dies out, winds will weaken into the evening and temperatures will fall just below freezing for the night.
Extended: A strengthening low-pressure system is projected to slide into our region towards the late week. Much of Thursday looks to stay calm and dry, with highs reaching 53 as cloudier conditions are expected. The system will begin impacting our area by bringing a cold front into the region with rain chances expected in the overnight hours. We’ll see chances of rain through Friday and Saturday, with our dry period most likely being Friday afternoon and evening. Temperatures on Friday look to reach the mid 50s for a high with lows dropping to the mid 30s overnight. On Saturday high temperatures look to be much cooler as that system drags a cold front through our area, where a high of 45 is expected. Saturday looks to have chances of rain through the day and in the evening with lows falling to 34.
