Today: A cold snap brings precipitation this morning along with some pretty intense winds. Expect gusts as strong as 35 miles an hour, although average wind speeds will remain in the lower 20’s. Rain chances will be 40% for the area, and those will continue to dwindle as the day goes on. By the afternoon, those chances will drop to 20%. The following cold front will be fully onset by this time, dropping the temperature to 30 degrees, even reaching the upper 20’s further inland. This means the potential for snow development is possible, although it may not stick overnight.
Tonight: The rain should fully taper off by the evening, leaving cloudy skies and chilly temperatures in the mid 20’s. The winds will still be intense as they have been throughout the day, although slightly milder than they were in the afternoon.
Tomorrow: By Thanksgiving the low pressure system will have fully passed over Milwaukee, leaving the city with calm, cloudy skies. The morning low will be 25 degrees, so be wary of slick roads during your holiday travels as yesterday’s rain likely froze over during the night. The temperature will warm slightly during the afternoon, only up to about 27 degrees, and as night falls expect those temperatures to drop into the upper teens. Overall, no major meteorological events are to be expected, just chilly temperatures and cloudy skies!
Extended: Black Friday will look very similar, as the high pressure system settles over the city. The day will also be cloudy and slightly chillier than Thursday with a high of 27 and the nighttime low dipping into the upper teens again. Saturday will take a turn, bringing some form of precipitation (although it is a little far out to say for certain if it will be rain or snow). The good news is it will be a little warmer, with a high of 35 degrees and a low of 27. Although this is subject to change, it does mean that snow is not a guarantee. Sunday will be similar, with the tail end of Saturday’s precipitation affecting the area through the morning. The temperature will be marginally cooler, with a high of 26 and a low of 18.
