Saturday

Arctic air fully settles into southeast Wisconsin on Saturday. The NWS has issued a cold weather advisory all day till 10am Sunday. Any lingering flurries early give way to mostly cloudy skies through the day. Temperatures struggle to recover, with afternoon highs only around 8-12F. West-northwest winds remain brisk at 15-25 mph, keeping wind chills locked in the -10F to -20F range for much of the day. No real improvement is expected despite some afternoon sunshine.

Saturday Night

Saturday night turns dangerously cold as winds remain elevated and the Arctic high builds closer. Overnight lows fall to 0 to -5F, with northwest winds at 10-20 mph. Wind chills dip sharply into the -15F to -25F range, especially late at night. This will be the coldest stretch of the weekend for many areas.

Sunday

Sunday remains bitterly cold, though conditions slowly improve late in the day. High temperatures reach only 10-15F, but lighter winds help slightly. Northwest winds at 5-15 mph still produce wind chills near -10F to -20F during the morning, easing gradually through the afternoon as the surface high settles overhead. Skies remain partly cloudy to mostly sunny.

Sunday Night

Another cold night follows Sunday evening, though not quite as harsh. Lows drop to 5-10°F, with lighter west winds around 5-10 mph. Wind chills fall into the -5F to -15F range overnight. While still uncomfortable, this marks the beginning of a slow warming trend.

Monday

Moderation begins Monday as the Arctic air retreats east. Skies turn partly sunny, and temperatures rebound into the mid to upper 20s. Southwest winds increase slightly to 10-15 mph, keeping the day chilly but far more manageable compared to the weekend. Wind chills stay in the teens through the morning before climbing into the 20s during the afternoon.

Tuesday

Tuesday continues the warming trend with highs reaching the mid 30s, potentially pushing slightly above freezing. Southwest winds at 10-20 mph usher in milder air, especially during the afternoon. Skies are partly cloudy, and conditions remain dry. Any remaining snowpack will begin to soften during the day.

Wednesday

Wednesday looks noticeably milder as southeast Wisconsin enters the warm sector of a midweek system. High temperatures climb into the upper 30s to lower 40s, with south winds increasing to 15-25 mph. Clouds thicken through the day, and there is a growing chance for precipitation later Wednesday into Wednesday night, potentially starting as rain before transitioning to a mix as cooler air follows.
