Today: A strong low-pressure system will track into our region, bringing warmer temperatures to the Milwaukee area. This system will cause winds to shift southerly, carrying warm air and triggering rainfall later tonight. Temperatures this morning will start off near 30 degrees, with the sun welcoming us as broken clouds filter the sky. Lighter winds take course throughout the day with cloud cover growing as well as temperatures. We’ll reach a high around 35 degrees in Milwaukee, which is above average for this time of year.

Tonight: Clouds stick around this evening as temperatures fall to a low of 31 degrees. We’re looking to stay dry past the midnight hour, but rain chances grow overnight tonight into tomorrow morning as this aforementioned low-pressure system continues to slide through our area.

Tomorrow: Light showers look likely to begin around the 6 a.m. hour this morning, lasting until the early afternoon. A line of moderate rain washes through around midday. A cold front associated with this line will create snow possibilities near the end of this event. We can expect most of this precipitation to clear from the area around 3 p.m. tomorrow, totaling 0.10 to 0.25 inch for the Milwaukee area and minor snow accumulations. Breezier winds accompany this event, while temperatures reach close to 40 degrees before the cold front sweeps through. If you’re on campus for exams or have any travel planned early tomorrow, ensure you have an umbrella handy. Temperatures will plummet behind this line of precipitation, falling to 32 degrees by sunset and in the tens for an overnight low. Wet sidewalks and roadways are expected to freeze with these falling temperatures, so be careful while traveling tomorrow night.

Extended: Temperatures begin to recover on Friday with highs in the mid 20s. Mostly sunny conditions are likely throughout the day as northwest winds shift southwesterly in the afternoon. Cloud cover grows for the evening with lows short of 20 degrees. The shift of southerly winds will allow temperatures to rise overnight Friday, where we can see high temperatures reaching 40 degrees on Saturday. Mostly cloudy skies are anticipated for the day before clearing to partly cloudy and temperatures falling to the teens overnight. A stronger cold front from the north slides through Saturday night, where temperatures on Sunday turn to 27 for a high. The sun sticks around to end our weekend with lows falling to the teens on Sunday night.
