Sunday

Cold but quiet conditions dominate Sunday as high pressure influences southern Wisconsin. Skies are mostly sunny, with afternoon highs in the lower to mid 20s. Northwest winds ease through the day, generally 5-10 mph, allowing wind chills to slowly improve compared to early morning.

Sunday Night

Conditions begin to transition Sunday night as warm air advection develops. Clouds increase overnight, and temperatures do not fall as sharply, with lows in the upper teens to lower 20s. South winds pick up to 10-15 mph, signaling a milder pattern moving in.

Monday

Milder air overspreads the area Monday as southerly flow strengthens. Highs climb into the mid to upper 30s, with south winds at 10-20 mph. There is a 20-40% chance for light snow, mainly north of I-94 and Highway 18, though most measurable accumulation should stay north of the Milwaukee area. Elsewhere, conditions remain mostly dry.

Monday Night

Monday night stays relatively mild for late December. Lows settle into the upper 20s to lower 30s, with south winds around 10-15 mph. Lingering low-level moisture may lead to patchy drizzle, though temperatures are expected to remain above freezing.

Tuesday

Unseasonably warm air arrives Tuesday as upper-level ridging builds across the Upper Midwest. Skies are partly cloudy, with highs reaching the upper 30s to lower 40s. South to southwest winds increase to 15-25 mph, reinforcing the warming trend.

Wednesday

Wednesday continues the stretch of above-normal temperatures. Highs rise into the low to mid 40s, with breezy south winds at 15-25 mph. Clouds gradually increase through the day, but dry conditions prevail with only slight chance of rain.

Thursday (Christmas Day)

Christmas Day looks unusually mild for southeast Wisconsin. Highs reach the mid to upper 40s, with near 50 possible closer to the Wisconsin–Illinois border. South winds remain breezy at 15-25 mph. Clouds increase, and while most of the day stays dry, a chance for rain may develop later as a system approaches.
