Today: Monday will feature a chance of some rain and snow in the morning, however calmer conditions will follow in the afternoon and evening. This chance of precipitation is due to a stationary boundary parked in the U.P. which is connected to a weak low pressure system back in Montana. This weather maker will move eastward throughout the day, but not before the Milwaukee area sees some rain and snow. All in all, no major accumulation of either rain nor snow is expected. The weak weather maker we’ll see temperatures make it into the mid 30’s for a daytime high with south winds 5-10 mph with gusts ranging from 15-20 mph and overcast conditions controlling the skies.

Overnight: Winds will turn to the west and end up northwest by Tuesday morning with sustained speeds remaining 5-10 mph with gust around 10-15 mph. Temperatures will cool into the low 30’s for an overnight low with partly cloudy conditions.

Tomorrow: Tuesday will be the last of the cold air for a while as the same low pressure system brought us the clipper system yesterday moves over Lake Superior and drags a cold front through Wisconsin in the morning. Even though Milwaukee is kinda in between weather systems on Tuesday, skies will be mostly cloudy throughout the day, however we may see some sun very early in the morning but skies will cloud up pretty quickly. Furthermore, temperatures will rise through the lower 30’s in the morning and top out in the upper 30’s for a daytime high. Winds will be westerly with sustained speeds between 5-10 mph although gusts in the morning may be around 20-25 mph. As the aforementioned high pressure system moves in Tuesday evening winds will switch to the north which will draw in some cooler air so lows will be able to tumble into the upper 20’s overnight. This north wind will be short lived because overnight winds will shift again and this time to the southeast, with speeds around 5 mph.

Extended: Above average temperatures and rain showers look to be in store for the Milwaukee area over the holiday week, beginning on Wednesday. Christmas Eve will feature overcast conditions with winds generally out of the southeast for the majority of the day with sustained speeds between 5-10 mph with overcast conditions. Temperatures are projected to rise to just about the 40 degree mark for a daytime high, which is about 5-10 degrees warmer than the average for this time of the year in Milwaukee. Furthermore, there is a very small chance (about 10%) of an isolated sprinkle Wednesday evening,. Overnight Wednesday, winds will calm to under 5 mph and turn to the northeast along with Temperatures in the upper 30s. Daytime highs will reach into the low 40’s and winds will shift directions throughout the day, continuously blowing at 5-10 mph. A low pressure system moves to the southeast of the Milwaukee area, bringing isolated showers throughout overnight Thursday and into Friday morning, finally stopping before noon. Mostly cloudy conditions will still hang around as temperatures will hit the lower 40s for a high and winds blow with sustained speeds between 5-10 mph, with higher speeds in the afternoon.
