Today: The 5-Day Weather Forecast January 25, 2026 begins in the midst of a Winter Weather Advisory. Accumulations of lake effect snow should amount to under a half inch for the University and Milwaukee proper, but far southeastern Milwaukee County might see 5 inches of snow. This being said, I-794 and I-94 south of the I-43 interchange might become slippery, so prepare for delays. The snow passes by 3 p.m. after Milwaukee hits a high of 11. Winds in the morning and evening gust around at 24 mph, so wind chills can drop below -20. Be sure to bundle up this week as most days will see wind chills in the -20s.

Tonight: As the clouds break at sunset, Milwaukee cools into single digits and further. Additionally, winds pick up from the northwest, continuing the cold trend into the bleak hours of Monday morning. A low temperature of -5 will end the partly cloudy night.
Tomorrow: Going into the workweek, the cold temperatures subside a touch for a high of 11 on Monday. All day long, but especially later, winds begin to change, welcoming a low-pressure system to Wisconsin. This warms the winds but also puts snow in the forecast during the late night. Clouds increase over the day to bring an overcast night sky. While we warm from the southwestern winds, snow enters in around midnight. The main hazard of this storm is the winds, as gusts blow at 30 mph, and possibly more, lowering visibility and drifting snow across roadways.
Tuesday: Snow clears out by 10 a.m. to give a more partly cloudy day. Along with easing clouds, winds slow perceptibly but still average 12 mph. Gusts remain close but do not exceed 30 mph, as the low exits to the east. Beginning then in the afternoon, a high-pressure system moves in with rather pleasant weather. Tuesday hits a high of 14 before retreating to the negatives for a low of -1. The only thing the high pressure does not bring in is warmth. Rotating clockwise in the Northern Hemisphere, a high-pressure system in the Great Plains sends cold air into Wisconsin. Thus shall be Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
Extended: Looking further into Wednesday and Thursday, temperatures slip lower. Highs only climb to 10 and 6, while lows dip to -4 and -5, respectively. Breezes turn brisk with gusts up to 27 mph Wednesday, but calm on Thursday to 18 mph. Though gustier winds dominate Wednesday, each day maintains a potential to have wind chills lower than -25. It would not be a surprise to see enhanced Cold Weather Advisories for Wednesday night into Thursday morning. Over the course of the two days, snowflakes may fall but nothing accumulates, so enjoy the small reprieve. As always, please stay up to date with your local weather.
