The Milwaukee Wave will play in the Major Arena Soccer League Ron Newman Cup Finals against the San Diego Sockers.

The first game of the series will be at UWM Panther Arena on Wednesday, April 22, with a 6:35 p.m. kickoff.

The Wave came into the playoffs as the three-seed after a 15-win, 7-loss and 2-OT season compared to the top-seeded Sockers, who finished with a 16-win, 6-loss and 2-OT season.

Despite finishing behind the Sockers and the Baltimore Blast in the regular season, the Wave scored the most goals (180) and had the best goal differential (+36) of all eight teams in MASL.

Milwaukee had the best home record of any team in the MASL with a 9-3-0 record at Panther Arena. San Diego offsets the home turf advantage, as they had an equal 9-3-0 road record, also good enough to top the MASL.

The Wave have been led by midfielder Alex Sanchez (32 G, 17 A) and defender Mario Alvarez (21 G, 21 A) in 2025-26. In six playoff games, Sanchez has (3 G, 1 A), while Alvarez has led the way with (2 G, 4 A).

Milwaukee played the six-seeded Empire Strykers in the first round of the postseason. They won the series 2-1 and advanced to play the Baltimore Blast in the semifinals.

After losing game one of the series seven to five, the Wave rattled off two straight to head back to the Ron Newman Cup.

On the other side of the bracket, the Sockers wasted no time sweeping the St. Louis Ambush after their first-round bye.

Milwaukee beat San Diego in both regular-season matchups.
