
Overview: Intense storms start off on Monday, which later taper into small bouts of rain near the end of the week.
Today: An intense low-pressure system affects the city all day on Monday, warranting a slight risk of severe storm warning from the Storm Prediction Center (SPC). In the morning, expect up to a half inch of rain and winds of 13 mph, although gusts can range up to 26 mph. Temperatures will be in the upper 40s, eventually warming to 59 degrees as the day continues. The afternoon will bring heavier rain, although winds will remain similar to the early morning.
Tonight: The rain will begin to dwindle as the evening sets in. Rain totals for the day will likely be around 1.5 inches, and the temperatures once the sun sets will fall in the low 50s. Winds will drop almost completely, with gusts barely breaching 6 mph.
Tomorrow: The tail end of Monday’s rain will affect the early hours of the morning but should end completely in time for the morning commute. The afternoon will provide the day’s high of 57 degrees, with average wind speeds of 8 mph throughout the day. As evening begins, those temperatures will drop into the upper 40’s. Cloudy skies will persist throughout the day.
Extended: Wednesday will have a high of 49 and a low of 43, with rain chances around 20% as the result of another low-pressure system moving through. The 20% chance will carry into Thursday although skies will show a little more sun than the previous day. The high will 49 with a low of 44. As Friday approaches, the rain will hopefully depart, although it is a bit far out to say for certain. That said, skies are expected to be partly cloudy with a high of 46 and a low of 40.
