Trend: A weekend warm up will lead to severe storms Monday night. Tuesday and Wednesday will start a calmer weather pattern with sunshine and cooler temperatures returning.

Today: Warm temperatures and rain chances return for Saturday over the Milwaukee area. In the morning, temperatures will rise through upper 50s and lower 60s with winds out of the southwest at 8 mph under overcast skies. By the afternoon, skies will start to clear giving way to partly sunny skies by late afternoon. Temperatures will rise to near 80 with winds staying consistent. Heading into the evening winds will calm to around 5 mph and skies will turn into clouds ahead of a cold front that will move through overnight.

Tonight: Most of the night will be dry, but by early Sunday a band of showers and embedded thunderstorms will approach from the west ahead of the cold front. Before showers arrive, skies will remain overcast as temperatures make it down into the upper 40s with calm west winds. A 40% chance of showers will exist at 4 a.m. and continue into Sunday morning courtesy of a stationary boundary hanging over southern Wisconsin..

Tomorrow: Cooler but rainy weather conditions will be in store for Sunday. Temperatures will rise through the 50s with winds out of the northeast at 8 mph. Into the early afternoon, temperatures will continue to rise through the 60s. At this time, winds will turn to the southeast and ease to around 5 mph with rain showers ending, leaving overcast skies. New precipitation amounts will range between a tenth to a quarter of an inch across the area. By the late afternoon and into the evening, temperatures will top out in the low-70s as winds increase to 14 mph and turn to the south. Overnight skies will clear for a bit as temperatures cool into the upper 60s with winds staying consistent.

Monday: A stormy Monday will lead to a calmer weather pattern by mid-week. Sunday’s stationary front will evolve into a warm front which will lift north through the area Monday morning. This warm front will be responsible for a 30% chance of showers that will end by mid-day. The afternoon and evening hours will remain dry with high temperatures making it into the low-80s and warm blustery southwest winds between 10-15 mph under partly sunny skies. Into the overnight hours, a cold front will begin to swing through with storms arriving in the early night and ending by Tuesday morning. These storms will have the possibility to produce damaging winds, large hail, and isolated chances of spinning up a tornado, so nothing’s ruled out at this point. Because of this frontal system the Storm Prediction Center has issued a Slight risk of severe weather across the Milwaukee area. Stay tuned to future forecasts to get the latest on Monday’s weather.

Extended: Tuesday and Wednesday will begin a calmer weather pattern. Tuesday will be a transitional day. The cold front will move through early Tuesday morning as a weak high-pressure system begins to approach Wisconsin from the northwest. High temperatures will make it into the high-70s with west winds of 18 mph. Furthermore, a 20% chance isolated showers will hang around throughout the day, placing overcast skies over the area. By the overnight hours, all shower chances will end, and winds will turn to the northwest slowing to 14 mph. Wednesday will be a mostly sunny day as a weak high-pressure system stations itself over northern Wisconsin. High temperatures will make it into the lower 60s with northwest winds of 12 mph. Into the overnight hours, skies will become partly cloudy, and winds will switch to the southeast and calm to around 6 mph.
