Overview: Rain diminishes quickly Saturday, followed by rapidly warming temperatures Sunday. Monday through Wednesday features 80-degree highs with plentiful sunshine. Get out and enjoy the summer weather.
Today: Memorial Day weekend has finally arrived, starting out overcast but turning sunny quickly. In the morning, temperatures will rise through the 50s under overcast skies with northern winds of 8 mph. There is a 10% chance of rain, owing to the occasional sprinkle during the morning hours, but most locations in the Milwaukee area will remain dry. By the afternoon, skies become mostly sunny with temperatures making it into the mid-60s for daytime high with winds turning to the northeast and speeds staying consistent. Winds will calm by the evening, and skies will begin to cloud up ahead of a frontal system that will move through during the overnight.
Overnight: After midnight a frontal system will swing through which will bring a 30% chance of a thunder shower to the area. Minimal accumulations are expected, if any. Winds will turn to the south, remaining calm which will halt temperatures in the low-50s under overcast skies.
Tomorrow: Sunday will start a rapid warmup. During the morning temperatures will rise through the 60s as winds turn to the southwest around 5 mph under partly sunny skies. By the afternoon, sunny skies will dominate which will help temperatures soar into the low-70s for a high as winds become variable and calm. Into the evening and overnight hours, winds will pick back up to the 5-mph mark and swing around to the east. Temperatures will cool into the mid-50s under mostly clear skies.
Monday: Looks like summer has arrived during the next week. On Monday, high temperatures soar into the low to mid 80s and dew points getting back into the sticky 60s. Skies will be mostly sunny as a high pressure system sits just to the south of Milwaukee, with winds out of the southwest between 5-10 mph.
Extended: Tuesday will be more of the same, as the high-pressure system drifts further off to the east. Temperatures continue to be hot, with a high in the mid-80s and winds out of the west with speeds of 6 mph. Overnight Tuesday, a weak cold front will drop in from the north, creating a 20% chance of a shower or isolated thunderstorm after midnight. The second half of the night should remain dry as winds will shift to the northeast and increase to around 10 mph. On Wednesday, another high-pressure system will start to move in from the north. Skies will be nice and sunny with east winds off the lake around 10 mph. Temperatures fall down slightly into the low-80s. Overnight winds will shift to the northeast and slow to 5 mph with clear skies.
