Overview: Milwaukee’s 5-Day Weather Forecast June 17th, 2026, finds not one, but two rapidly developing storm systems, one for today and one for the weekend.

Today: Milwaukee awakens to cloudy skies and low-60s temperatures. As the rain arrives at 8 a.m., thunder follows close behind, not letting up until noon. A slight reprieve then gives way to another, potentially stronger, batch of thunderstorms. Winds during the day increase to average 14 mph in the afternoon with gusts up to 30 mph. Within storms, gusts of wind could top 45 mph, so beware of local weather warnings, watches, and statements. Other than a full day of storms, Milwaukee experiences a high of 63, a temperature over 10 degrees lower than the average historical highs for the day. Not only this, but temperatures also remain quite steady around the upper 50s and lower 60s for the entire day. Be careful of any excess water on the roadways.

Tonight: Thunderstorms finally taper off around 7 p.m. with showers following suit after 9 p.m. In the night, drizzles stay possible until the following morning, but winds thankfully die down until 3 a.m. In the late night, winds average to 10 mph and strengthen into Thursday.

Tomorrow: Thursday morning sees winds averaging 14 mph, gusting up to 40 mph. During the windy day, some sunshine peaks through the clouds, but temperatures are hesitant to rise beyond 70. Some rain showers are possible in the evening with a slim chance of thunder, but nothing is expected to become weather warned. The low drops to 55 in the night with calmer winds of 8 mph.

Friday: Juneteenth might begin with a nice sunrise, as clouds keep mostly clear of Milwaukee to start the federal holiday. Clouds avoid the Milwaukee area for the morning but gather into the afternoon. Reaching a reasonable 73 degrees, temperatures attempt to make their comeback despite prevailing northwestern winds. These winds stick around 10 mph with gusts up to 30 mph. Riding on these winds, storms enter from the northwest in the evening. Due to the sun setting, the storms dissipate mostly before arrival in Milwaukee but still harbor some drizzly weather. After sunset, rain probabilities take a pause while winds calm and temperatures fall to 51.

This map of the United States and Mexico represents the wind speeds and pressures. These winds flow far above our heads (500 hPa) with blues to greens being slower and oranges to purples being faster. Pressures are shown by the lines and letters H (high pressure) and L (low pressure). From Tuesday at 10 p.m., the reds and oranges in the bottom left of the image move into southern California by Thursday night, and merge with a low pressure over the Rockies by Friday night. Weekend Outlook: Saturday temperatures finally start to feel like Wisconsin’s summers once again with a high of 74. Breezes seldom hit 18 mph with average winds of 6 mph. Although some clouds overshadow the day, Saturday turns out nice without any precipitation. Temperatures remain in the upper 50s for the night, as winds increase out of the southwest. This is in anticipation of the rapidly developing low-pressure system over Iowa. Currently, models disagree on the track of the storm, but suffice to say that Milwaukee should see rain Sunday morning into the evening. In conjunction, temperatures struggle to enter the upper 60s. Winds strengthen to 14 mph with possible gusts of 40 mph. In the late evening, rains exit over Lake Michigan to reveal the sunset. The low temperature reaches 53.
