Overview: Extreme heat is still prevalent during the week, with the extreme heat warning continuing through Wednesday night. Later in the week, thunderstorms move into the area, finally bringing an end to the oppressive heat.

Today: Temperatures max out in the mid 90s on Tuesday, coupled with clear skies throughout the day. Dew-point temperatures hit the low 70s, creating a heat index around 105 degrees. Due to the humidity and temperature, an extreme heat warning has been issued for Milwaukee and surrounding the counties. Winds consistently blow out of the southwest at 14 mph, with 24 mph gusts at times.

Tonight: Temperatures fall into the upper 70s along with clear skies for a majority of the night. Winds slow down slightly, blowing out of the southwest at 10 mph with 15 mph gusts. Scattered thunderstorms move into the area, first starting around 3 a.m. and mostly ending by daybreak.

Tomorrow: Temperatures rise into the lower 90s on Wednesday with a heat index close to 100 degrees, causing the National Weather Service to continue the extreme heat warning into Wednesday night. Winds will be strong, blowing out of the southwest at 15 mph with 20 mph gusts and clear skies. The heat breaks slightly on Wednesday night, falling into the lower 70s. Winds slow down to 12 mph, with 18 mph gusts.

Extended: Thursday temperatures rise into the lower 90s, along with potentially severe thunderstorms during the afternoon and during the night. Winds continue to blow out of the southwest, but slightly slower at 8 mph. Friday temperatures rise into the lower 90s, with continued thunderstorms and 8 mph winds. Storms continue on the Fourth of July, mostly beginning in the morning and ceasing around 9 p.m. Temperatures hit the upper 80s, along with winds out of the south at 10 mph.
