Overview: A cloudy Sunday will make for brilliant sunshine Monday and Tuesday with highs around 80. Wednesday will bring storms, but by Thursday Milwaukee will begin to dry out.

Today: Sunday will be a transitional day of weather across the Milwaukee area. A departing low-pressure system to the south will move further east to make way for an incoming high-pressure system from the north. Skies will be mostly cloudy in the morning, as temperatures rise through the 60s with north winds around 10 mph and gusts approaching 20 mph. Mid-level clouds will hang around during the afternoon as temperatures reach the upper 70s for a high accompanied by winds turning to the northeast around 14 mph, but calming gusts. Winds will pick back up in the evening for a short while with gust up to 25 mph under overcast skies.

Overnight: Skies should gradually clear overnight with temperatures cooling into the low 60s along with winds turning back to the north and decreasing to around 5 mph.

Tomorrow: Monday will start out with brilliant sunshine in the morning, as temperatures warm through the upper 60s and lower 70s with northeast winds around 8 mph. A high-pressure system will be swirling overhead which will allow for sunny skies to continue through the afternoon which will aid temperatures in reaching the upper 70s for a high. Skies stay clear through the evening and into the overnight hours. Temperatures will cool into the lower 60s with winds turning to the north.

Tuesday: Tuesday will be more of the same as the high-pressure system hangs over Wisconsin. Temperatures will be a little warmer, topping out in the low 80s by the afternoon. Winds will be out of the north in the morning but swing to the east by the afternoon with speeds around 5 mph. Temperatures fall into the mid-60s overnight as winds turn to the southwest. The weak high-pressure system will start to move off to the east overnight to make way for Milwaukee’s next weather maker which will arrive Wednesday evening.

Extended: Overcast conditions will consume skies on Wednesday ahead of a cold front. Temperatures will reach the mid-80s accompanied by southwest winds around 8 mph which will push dew points back near 70 by the evening. A cold front approaching from the northwest will move in by the evening. This front could materialize a line of showers and heavy thunderstorms. At this point, it is too early to know if there will be any severe weather with this system, but with dew points in the 70s and temperatures in the mid-80s during the day would favor severe weather. Furthermore, temperatures will only make it down to upper 60s overnight Wednesday with winds turning to the north around 10 mph. Thursday will be another overcast day with the cold front starting to depart Wisconsin. Temperatures look to reach the low-80s with winds from the north in the morning then turning to the northeast by the afternoon around 10 mph. With the thick cloud cover in the morning, a 20% chance of an isolated shower exists, however not much accumulation is expected. Rain chances will come to an end by noon. This will cause dew points to decrease throughout the day with upper 60s in the morning but low-60s during the evening and overnight. Temperatures will cool into the low-60s overnight with winds decreasing to around 5 mph and turning to the north under clear skies.
